Accident On Browns Mill Road Tangles Morning Traffic

At least two cars involved in crash

A crash on Browns Mill Road on Thursday morning is backing up drivers trying to get to Vienna, Reston and the Dulles Toll Road during the morning rush.

The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. and involved at least two cars, a Fairfax County Police Department spokesperson said.

The road was open just before 9 a.m., the spokesman said, but Twitter user AlwaysBetOnJack said some backup remained for commuters.

Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

I was on it at 8:50 and all was clear. I did have to reroute this morning to drop of my daughter and RT. 7 moved incredibly fast. I was barely late.

If it weren't so warm today I would suspect there might have been black ice on the road. Last week there was runoff from the creek on the roadway and my husband hit the ice and almost wiped out. We were so grateful no cars were coming the other way. Maybe VDOT should do something there.

Glad you guys were safe. Surprisingly the accident was not down at the creek but up at the hairpin turn.
