Original: Town crews closed a section of Battle Street on Monday morning to repair a water main break — the fourth in six days.
Battle Street is closed between Birch and Plum Streets SW, according to a town alert.
Vienna Public Information Officer Kirstyn Barr said at 9 a.m., about 20 residents are still without water. It wasn't clear when repairs would be complete, she said.
The break is the fourth since Wednesday, when a water main break shut down nearby Hill Top Road NE and left residents without water on the first of several consecutive days of record heat across the region.
The second was reported on Saturday, when Kingsley Road between Nutley Street and Meadow Lane was closed for several hours as crews made repairs.
On Sunday, town crews made repairs on Glyndon Street NE, shutting down the roadat its intersection with John Marshall Drive.
