Crash Map: Car Accidents in Vienna

A look at where crashes occurred between Feb. 8 and 14 in Vienna, according to the Vienna Police Department.

The Vienna Police Department recorded 11 crashes in its most recent police report, spanning Feb. 8 to Feb. 14.

Of those crashes, three occurred at the intersection of Nutley Street and Maple Avenue.

Feb. 8

  • 5:14 p.m: Two vehicles were traveling southbound on Echols Street SE. The driver of the second vehicle allegedly did not allow enough room for the first vehicle,  which was hauling a trailer, to make the left turn onto Delano Drive, SE and was struck by the rear of the trailer.

Feb. 9

  • 11:16 a.m.: The driver of a vehicle was traveling southbound on Nutley Street toward Maple Ave NW. The driver of the second vehicle was attempting to exit from a parking lot and struck the first vehicle.The driver of the striking vehicle was charged with failure to stop before entering a highway.
  • 4 p.m.: The owner of a legally parked vehicle in the 300 block of Maple Avenue E stated that her vehicle had been struck by an unknown vehicle.

Feb. 10

  • 1 p.m.: The owner of a legally parked vehicle reported his vehicle had been struck by an unknown car near Church and Center Streets. 
  • 1:15 p.m.Two vehicles traveling on Maple Ave near Courthouse Road SW were stopped for a red light. The driver of the second vehicle attempted to switch lanes and struck the rear of the first vehicle.

  • 4:19 a.m.:  A vehicle was legally parked when it was struck by a vehicle traveling east bound in the 500 block of  Tapawingo Road SW. The driver of the striking vehicle stated he took his eyes off the road to have a drink and that is when he struck the parked vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle was charged with Reckless Driving.

Feb. 11

  • 5:14 p.m.:  The drivers of two vehicles were traveling north bound on Follin Lane. The driver of the first vehicle stopped near Pine Street due to heavy traffic. The driver of the second vehicle was unable to stop and rear ended the first vehicle.
  • 3:41 p.m.: The drivers of three vehicles were traveling east bound on Maple Avenue. The driver of the first vehicle stopped near Nutley Street due to heavy traffic. The driver of the second vehicle was attempting to switch lanes and was struck by the third vehicle. The driver of the third vehicle was charged with failure to pay full time and attention.

Feb 14

  • 10:13 a.m.:  The drivers of two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Maple Avenue. Both drivers stopped for the red traffic signal at Nutley Street. The driver of the second vehicle stated he was not paying attention and his foot came off the brake causing his vehicle to drift and strike the rear of the first vehicle.
  • 4:24 p.m.: The driver of the first vehicle was traveling southbound on Branch Road. The driver of the second vehicle was attempting to exit a parking lot to proceed onto Branch Road and struck the southbound vehicle.The driver of the striking vehicle was charged with failure to stop when entering a highway.
  • 5 p.m.: The drivers of two vehicles were traveling west bound on Maple Avenue near St. Andrews Drive. The driver of the first vehicle was attempting to slow down. The driver of the second vehicle was following too close and was unable to stop and rear ended the first vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was charged with following too close.
