Curtsies & Petals Will Close in March
Vienna shop that specializes in wedding items, furniture and unique gifts is marking down its inventory until it's gone.
Curtsies & Petals, a quiet shop on the edge of the Village Green, is closing its doors sometime this month — the second shop in the shopping center to announce its closing this week.
The shop, which in addition to wedding items sells "eclectic gifts, personal accessories" as well as home items, was owned by Divya Chadha for the past two years.
Chadha said she hopes to be out of the shop by March 20 and is marking all items down until then.
In addition to the normal merchandise, there are furniture pieces on sale as well as formal dresses.
Neighboring store Cafe Nemooneh shut its doors earlier this week.
A few weeks beforehand, Plush Gelato left its space at Maple Avenue and Park Street; it will continue to sell its gelato at area Smart Markets.

All these local businesses closing is really sad. We all need to rally behind LOCAL business. It's the heart beat of a community. I saw a study once that said that local business puts over $.40 of every dollar back into the community. National chains about 5 cents. SUPPORT LOCAL!

Agreed! The closing of Black-Eyed Susan was another huge loss! People of Vienna, think local before you head to the mall. Helps us, helps our kids (part-time jobs), helps small business owners who take out ads to support local sports teams and more. Vienna is the land of banks and mattress stores. But those services don't add charm, value, personality, and investment in local people. Just mega-corporations. Think Vienna first!

Not all local businesses are worthy of our support ... just the ones who support the community! We have lots of businesses in Vienna that do give back but, sad to say, some just want to take our money. There's little reciprocity ....
