A woman cut off by another driver Thursday morning lost control of her vehicle and hit a Maple Avenue telephone pole dead-on.
The crash, in the 1100 block of westbound Maple Avenue, occurred around 8:45 a.m., Vienna Police said. The woman who was driving the car was not injured.
Vienna Police Officer Bill Murray said drivers are asked to please be extra careful and increase following distances when traveling on wet pavement.
"Lane markings are harder to see when wet," Murray said. "Drivers should exercise caution and decrease speed to be sure they have a safe trip."
