UPDATE: Leesburg Pike Reopens After Falling Power Line Starts Brush Fire

Eastbound lanes on Route 7 near Gallows Road closed as crews work at scene.

Update 1:26 p.m.: Route 7 is now open.

A goose is apparently to blame for the incident.

Original:

A fallen power line caused a small brush fire Thursday morning in the median of Route 7 near Gallows Road, Fairfax County police said.

Eastbound lanes of Route 7 were closed as of 9:50 a.m., spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell confirmed to Patch, but a nearby access road was acting as a detour.

No estimate was available for when the road will reopen.

There are slight delays reported; drivers should seek alternate routes.

Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.
