As Halloween approaches, tell us what's on your mind

Here's what's on mine:
My hometown has a big Fourth of July parade, but not a Halloween Parade. (I'm not even sure if I've ever been to a Halloween parade). Needless to say, I'm excited to witness Vienna's parade this Wednesday.
Unlike my colleague, Oakton editor Nicole Trifone, I always loved Halloween. I was a total ham. I also thought I was going to be famous, so getting all dolled up in makeup and pretending to be something or someone else was something I wanted to do every day, not just once a year.
This photo was taken with the first of my younger brothers, who was Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. I have no idea why I wanted to be a bride, but I'm pretty sure I was the most conservatively dressed, made-up bride on the block.
Do you love Halloween like me, or despise it like Nicole?

The Vienna Halloween parade is one of the highlights of the year. We went even before we had our son! Hopefully the rain holds off Wed. night. People should remember that Maple Ave. (123) and several surrounding streets will shut down around 6 p.m. and the parade starts at 7 p.m. and lasts about 1 and 1/2 hours (!). We'll be hanging out at TD Bank -- they set up a nice grandstand for their customers in their parking lot.

Thanks for the tip, Phil! You'll probably see me or our photog there!
