Madison Girls Lacrosse Stays Undefeated

Warhawk softball notches two wins

A lacrosse showdown in Liberty District play ended up being a one-sided contest when the Madison Warhawks soundly defeated the Stone Bridge Bulldogs 17-5 on Thursday.

Madison is now 7-0 overall and 5-0 in district play.

The Warhawks got on the board quickly, hitting six consecutive goals before Stone Bridge finally scored.  At the half, the Warhawks had built an impressive 11-2 lead.  Madison played steady and strong the second half, where players continued to find the goal while shutting down the Bulldog offense.  An aggressive defense frustrated Stone Bridge, as Madison goalie Taylor Rivera-Silva walled off shot after shot, dashing the Bulldogs hope of a second-half comeback.  Rivera-Silva had nien saves for the evening. Senior stand-out and co-captain Allison Hahn and sophomore Carly Frederick led the Warhawk's offense with three goals and one assist each. Freshman Sam Babbitt led assists with four, and also scored one goal.  Alex Condon and Julia Kehoe added 3 goals a piece, and Katie Kerrigan contributed two goals and an assist. Megan Bisson and Annie Tracz had one goal, while Savannah Bentley -- in addition to her outstanding defensive play -- contributed an assist.
