UPDATE: One Suspect In Custody in M and T Bank Robbery

Vienna Police Department, FBI investigate Saturday incident; second suspect remains at large

UPDATE 11:29 a.m. Sunday: Police have arrested one suspect in Saturday's robbery of M and T bank, but the second suspect remains at large.

Akeem Williams, 20, of Alexandria, was arrested and charged with robbery.

Police found Williams after a citizen called police to say they saw a suspected bank dye pack exploding. Vienna Police and FBI agents investigated and secured a warrant for Williams. A search of Williams also yielded suspected marijuana; police secured a warrant charging him with possession of marijuana.

Williams was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and formally
charged with both offenses. He is being held without bond. 

Police continue to look for the second suspect.

Original: The and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are looking for two men they say robbed the M and T Bank on Saturday afternoon.

At 11:51 a.m., two black males entered the at 527 Maple Avenue SE in Vienna. One of the men handed a teller a note demanding money. The men implied they were armed, Officer Bill Murray said.

Tellers handed over an undisclosed amount of money and a dye pack to the men. The pair then fled.

The Fairfax County Police K-9 unit responded to search for the suspects. They were unsuccessful. Vienna Police detectives are currently investigating the case with the FBI.
