Police: Teen Makes Prank Calls About Being Abducted
Abduction claims were unfounded, Vienna police say.
A teen reportedly making prank phone calls about being abducted was not in fact the victim of a crime, a Vienna Police report said this week.
The incident began around 1:02 p.m. March 8, according to a Vienna Police report, when a woman on Orchard Street NW reported getting several phone calls from a caller who told her he or she had been abducted.
Vienna police responded to investigate. They traced the calls to a teen, who admitted the calls were a prank.
Police "counseled the juvenile on the seriousness of the prank," the report says. No charges were filed.
