Police Warn Residents About Holiday Mail Theft
Vienna residents report having packages stolen from outside their homes.
During the holiday season, Vienna Police are reminding residents to watch out for thieves who try to steal presents and packages left outside their homes.
At least two residents reported having such packages stolen from their property since the month began, both of them on the same street, according to the weekly activity log released Friday by police.
Both of the incidents occurred in southwest Vienna on Moorefield Hill Grove.
A man reported between midnight and 11:59 p.m. Dec. 1, someone had taken two UPS packages delivered to his residence.
A woman reported at noon Dec. 7 a package delivered to her residence was missing as well. She told police a neighbor reported seeing a woman come up to the home and take the package.
Police are investigating the cases.
They say "if possible have the package delivered during a time when you or someone you know is able to accept delivery of the packages."

Hi John -- as in, 12 a.m. Dec. 1, through the last minute of that day. (I believe the person who reported it was trying to indicate it was taken anytime the entirety of Dec. 1.)
