Readers' Choice: Best Florist

Tell us where you get flowers for special occasions.

When it’s Mother’s Day, Valentines Day, an anniversary or you’re trying to say “I’m sorry,” or "I love you," where do you go for flowers?

Patch is asking readers to share their favorite people, places and businesses in  in a series called "Readers' Choice." This week, we're asking you to pick the best florist in town.

Here's how it will work: We'll publish a poll and list choices for you to vote on. You'll also be able to "write in" a nomination in the comments box.

You'll be able to vote until Friday at 9 a.m. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments in the section below.

What will the winner get? Bragging rights! And a framed certificate to let customers know about the title, too.

Here are your choices (if we forgot any, shout out in the comments and we'll add them to the poll).

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Giant at Oakton Shopping Center is a good place to get flowers.

Agreed, for something that only lives for a week, the price premium of 50-200% for going to a florist doesn't make sense considering both Giant and Whole Foods have decent flowers and arrangements, especially if you know what you're looking for and have your own vase(s). And often near big events (Valentines, Mothers Day, etc), Whole Foods will have a table set up on the way in the store with someone there making arrangements and customizing them for you, a great value at a huge savings over a traditional florist shop.

Yep. The only reason to use a florist really is for things like weddings or for prom corsages.
