Readers' Choice: Best Swim Club in Vienna
Where do you go to spend the lazy days of summer?
Update: You nominated the best swim clubs in Vienna, and now, four have moved on to the voting round of Patch's Readers' Choice 2012. Here's your chance to put your money (er — vote) where your mouth is.
Cast a vote to help crown a winner. Voting opens July 23 and continues through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 17. Only one vote per user — tell your friends and family to log on to pick their favorite, too!
Original: If you don't have a pool yourself, the next best option is one of the swim clubs in and around Vienna.
And not just because you get to take a cool dip or two -- the kids get to compete on some of the area's best summer teams while the adults socialize too.
We want to know where you swim and why.
We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.
All you need to do to nominate a club is add a name in the comments below.
If you already see the club you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included. We may not be able to add all nominations to our poll, so make sure your favorite makes the cut.

Dunn Loring Swim Club is the best! We love the friendly staff, three separate pools, swim team and the retro vibe.

Cardinal Hill is the best Vienna swim club by far! Fabulous pools, great setting, superb tennis courts, newly renovated clubhouse with extensive cabana area and the nicest members and staff. We also have great swim, dive and tennis teams and tons of fun-filled social events. There is no place I'd rather spend my summer!

Second, Dunn Loring Swim Club. Everything about DLSC; swim team, dive team, three pools, life guards, concession stand and special activities.

Vienna is lucky to have so many great swim clubs and with long wait lists at all of them, it seems we could even use more. The people and community feeling that develop around the club are what makes each of them special. Personally, I'd vote for Vienna Woods, as I grew up there and have made new friends as well. There are many 2nd and a few 3rd generation families who have returned to raise their kids at Vienna Woods. We have strong swim, dive and tennis programs for children, adult swim, water aerobics, and men's, women's and mixed doubles tennis teams for adults. Members enjoy the full service snack bar and look forward to warm summer evenings when they don't have to go home to make dinner. There are memorable special events throughout the season and when the final whistle blows on Labor Day Monday the pool is full of sad members booing the end of another fun summer. Best of luck to all the great swim clubs in Vienna!

Cardinal Hill, hands down. Newly renovated and modernized, huge pool, multiple lighted tennis courts. Downside: a very long waiting list.

Vienna Aquatic is the best place to hang out for the summer. It has an easy-going atmosphere, friendly staff, great facility, no fries, and a superb president(OK, OK, I'm the president). And when the bongo drums get going and the kids dress up for a swim meet there is nothing like it.

Vienna Woods. Belonged there in high school and went back 20 years later to raise my son in the Woods.
