Readers' Choice: Best Teacher in Vienna

Vote for your favorite educator in Vienna

Update: You nominated the best teachers in Vienna, and now, they've moved on to the voting round of Patch's Readers' Choice 2012.

Here's your chance to put your money (er — vote) where your mouth is. Cast a vote to help crown a winner.

Voting opens July 23 and continues through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 17. Only one vote per user — tell your friends and family to log on to pick their favorite, too!

Original: We all have at least one teacher that made a significant impact on our lives. For those of us that are lucky, we've had several.

Give a shoutout to an important educator in your life by nominating them for "best teacher" in Vienna.

We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a teacher is add a name in the comments below.

If you already see the person you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included. We may not be able to add all nominations to our poll, so make sure your favorite makes the cut.

Follow this contest on Facebook (Vienna Patch) and on Twitter @ViennaPatch.

Flint Hill Elementary's Mr. Bechtle is the best! He makes every child feel special every day, he always has something positive to say! He even eats lunch with the kids, who does that?? He teaches flag football after working all day and helps out with the Boy Scouts! Go Mr. B. go!!

Mr. Bechtle at Flint Hill Elementary is an awesome 2nd grade teacher. He teaches what his students need to learn during school and does not expect a lot of homework from kids so home time can be home time spent with family and doing sports and extracurriculars, a philosophy I totally support. His after school flag football was awesome, too!

Notice how all the nominations are from elementaries? I would like to nominate a high school teacher on my son's behalf -- Mr. Shane Rigsby of Madison, whose tales of historical derring do have given my son a love of history that I would have never thought possible. Alex would come home almost every day talking about how much he liked his history class, which was nothing short of a miracle as far as I am concerned. Teenagers rarely like their teachers so he must be awesome!

Mr. Bechtle has a genuine interest in seeing the kids do their best, he teaches with varied methods to keep the material exciting, hands on experiences that really make the lessons jump off the pages and meaningful in their lives. He makes a lasting impression on his students.
