Suspect Arrested in Friday's Suspicious Death

Gainesville man charged with murder after man found dead in car in Vienna.

A Gainesville man was charged Saturday in the apparent murder of a man found dead in a car Friday off Chain Bridge Road in Vienna.

Johnny E. Bonilla, 22, of Gainesville, was located at his home around 4 p.m. Saturday by the U.S. Marshals Service and Prince William County and Fairfax County police officers. He was charged with murder.

Police said in a statement Saturday night they believe Bonilla and the 19-year-old victim, Zavier O. Stringfellow, 19, of the Manassas area, had planned to meet up Friday night.

They met, police said, but there was allegedly a struggle during which Stringfellow was stabbed.

Officers found Stringfellow dead around 7 p.m. Friday in a car on an access road off of Chain Bridge Road near Glengyle Drive.

Police said it does not appear Bonilla and Stringfellow knew each other before the incident.

The line you are looking for is "innocent until proven guilty" (not "to proven").

Zavier thought it was worth risking his life to rob from someone.
There are consequences to your actions. And he shouldnt have underestimate the reaction that he would cause in Johnny.

Now that he's gone everyone is making this kid look like a saint & asking for justice.
What about Johnny? His life is now in ruins because this idiot thought it would be a good idea to steal from him...

In my eyes Zavier was an idiot. and the one to blame for his own death & for Johnnys life now being ruined.

so tell me, if youre boyfriend/brother or even father or w.e was about to get robbed/jumped or even possibly killed, you'd rather him not defend himself? you have to be one of the most IGNORANT people on here. I HIGHLY DOUBT johnny was aiming to kill this dude, he was probably just trying to survive. if your boy came at me with 2 other guys, and put me in that same situation, i would have done the EXACT SAME THING.

I don't think the black kid was gay so I'd say the Johnny was called upon to deliver Mr. Stringfellow's next high. Probably marijuana. If it was, Mr Stringfellow may still be alive if marihuana was legal instead of having to go through the bs of a drug dealer. I hate alcohol. have a safe and wonderful New Year. Mr Stringfellow if the Christian prophecy is true and you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, well then my fellow American you are in a wonderful place. If the prophecy isn't true well then I really have no idea what happens.

Hi Carol,
I have been asking myself the same thing. It's very suspicious how so many people know different aspects about the story. Instead of venting back and forth with one another they should be reporting this stuff to the police. Everyone wants to be known for knowing what happened but nobody wants to put forth the effort to try and help establish what really happened. They say they are friends of Zavier and friends of Johnny. Stop talking and do something. That's the problem with these kids. They think they are grown but keep making STUPID decisions....smh...Alls I can say is RIP Zavier and to Johnny...no comment!!!!

I know Johnny and he would never do anything like this unprovoked. Your boy probably tried to rob him, and he got what was coming to him. Johnny is like 5'5" and wouldn't have stood a chance against this guy if he tried to attack him. Johnny didn't stage an accident either. The idiot tried to drive after he got stabbed and crashed his car. Maybe if Zavier didn't try to pull a fast one, he would still be alive. Johnny was defending himself. Screw all of you guys. Your boy is a piece of scum and deserved what he got. Free Johnny!

duzzy

12:18 pm on Wednesday, January 2, 2013

I am not on anyone side...just wondering what the truth really is. True, Johnny had to defend himself but name calling and speaking ill-will about a person does not change the circumstances. The same way Zavier should not have tried to rob Johnny is the same way Johnny should not have been selling whatever he was selling. They met up for something so that proves they were both up to no good. In the end nobody wins cause Zavier is dead and your boy is facing charges of murder. The seed you sow you will reap...Galatians 6:7

everyone who is defending zavier is ignorant and childish. stop being mad because your star athlete is gone. yes, it sucks. but stop being so ignorant, you all know he was trying to rob johnny. ive even seen comments on here saying there was 2 other guys with zavier. the way i see it, theyre just as guilty for your boys death just as much as johnny.

Listen here Blatant_Truth cause I am going to say this one more time....I am not on anyone side because this whole situation is a mess. Although Johnny was being attacked does not make it right that he did what he did. Honestly, truth be told if people were living by God's law Zavier would still be here and Johnny would not be charged with murder. Everyone wants to point the finger and say whose wrong and whose right. Nobody wins!! The bottom line is we all are accountable for the decisions we make. So Zavier has been held accountable for his and now Johnny is being held accountable for his. People want to take up for Johnny but if he was such a saint and his family had so much money then why was he selling drugs? Why did he agree to meet with Zavier...oh, I forgot, he is the seller so he gets a pass. Zavier had a promising future and because of his decision and the consequence that followed his no longer here. Johnny was a so-called good boy and had to have been prevoked in order to do what he did. Everybody wants to claim that they knew these two young men but did they really? Obviously not, because who knew that Zavier would take from somebody and who knew that Johnny would stab somebody? All of you get a life and possibly report what you know as fact instead of fiction which is of course your opinion. Only God can judge them now...who are we to try and play God's role?

duzzy, I'm not a Patch editor and I can't block anyone. If you object to any posts you can click on the "flag as inappropriate" link and the editors will review the post and take it down if they feel that it should come down. Personally, I'm saddened to see such disrespect for someone who died tragically and for someone who's life is basically ruined at a young age. Those who have reliable information about the case should go to the police; those that don't should show more respect in their postings. But then, as one poster said, I'm just an old lady! (Not bitter though).

duzzy, why are you even here? you didnt know any of them. and although i dont like what you said, im mature enough to admit that you have a good point. but look at it this way, say you go on craigslist and try to sell and ipad for instance, youre just trying to make a little extra cash during the holiday season by selling something you dont nedd/use anymore, then 3 guys come at you in a threatening manor, what would you do? please reply, i'd love to know what you would do. and non of the reports say it was drug related, although thats a big possibility, it hasnt been proven.

And i completely agree with you about the whole live by gods law, but look at the type of things zaviers friends are saying. doesnt that say a little something about him? "johnny will pay one way or the other" "i hope johnny rots". theyre saying he deserves the maximum no matter what the situation was. F that, if the man was just trying to defend himself, he should get the minimum.

Blatant_Truth...I want to apologize if I sounded as if I took offense but for your information I knew Zavier very well...he was like family but you do not see me trying to take up for him because wrong is wrong. But at the same time we are accountable for our actions and consequences follow bad decisions...that's how it is. Now if Johnny was selling something and posted on Craigslist I would be able to understand where you're coming from but since you and I clearly know that this is not the case....then let's keep it real. We can go back and forth all day long trying to piece together this mystery or swap insults about who was the better person in reference to Johnny and Zavier but it would be useless because one is gone and the other is facing serious charges. Let us not forget that we have another generation coming up as we speak and it is time stand stand for something or we will all fall for anything. As I mentioned before I knew Zavier, his mom, etc. I used to feed him and he has even visited my household on numerous occasions but I am a firm believer, you live by the sword you die by the sword. Johnny needs to thank the good Lord that he is still alive and do something else besides trying to be a new age Tony Montana....drugs separate families, drugs are no good, drugs kill....I wish folks would get a clue and realize that there are consequences for your actions.

transactions like this can be done peacefully. my opinion, they both had bad intentions. one was selling, the other one was buying. only difference is that one had worst intentions. if the transaction wouldve gone as planned, this wouldnt even be an issue. but you are right, and i also apologize for getting a little rowdy and rude. what i fear the most is that this kid zavier was influenced in to robbing johnny, because apparently there were 2 others with him. idk, but like you said, only god, johnny and zavier know what happened. and the 2 other guys. again, my bad for getting all brusque about this.
