Vienna, NOVA Honor Colorado Victims

Flags will be flying at half staff through Wednesday to honor those who were lost.

Flags in Vienna, Northern Virginia and the rest of the country will be flying at half-staff through Wednesday to honor the victims of the movie theater shooting in Aurora, Colo.

The lowering applies to the flags of the United States, individual states, and county and city governments. Most noticeable have been the flags along the Vienna Town Green, which continued to fly at half staff Tuesday night.

At the midnight showing of the latest installment of Batman at a Colorado theater on Friday, a 24-year-old man attacked a packed movie theater, killing several people and wounding dozens more.

The suspect in the shootings headed to court on Monday and faces several charges of first-degree murder.

"killing several people and wounding dozens more."

Wow, I know it's just a Patch article, but seriously? That statement is downplaying it a tad. 12 people were killed, 59 were wounded.
