Viewfinder: Art Carnage at The Soundry

We are always on the prowl in our communities for great photos and local stories. This week, artists came to showcase their talent at The Soundry.

When you look around town, what do you see?

Every week, we'll highlight people, places and events around Vienna in this spot.

This week:

Indie crafters and artists came to the Soundry on Saturday night for an urban version of Art Carnage, a monthly "live, unstructured variety show" that includes performance art, live music, 'extreme' improve, hooping, poetry, belly dancing, rap and more.

Albus Cavus sponsored this month's event, which was urban and pop-centric. Graffiti artists showcased their work, along with "indie crafters with urban, tattoo and pop-culture inspired handmades."

The Soundry also hosts a Kindle party every three months or so, and there will be one tonight at 7:30. Kindle authors will read from their work and the event will be netstreamed via the Soundry's website. A panel of some of the authors discussing ebook publishing will follow.
