UPDATE: Hill Top Road Reopened After Water Main Break

Water returns to Northeast Vienna neighborhood

Update 4:03 p.m.: The road is now reopened.

Update 2:13 p.m.: MrAntonioLuisB said on Twitter around 1:53 p.m. that water had been restored to the area.

Original: Water Main Break Closes Hill Top Road: Hill Top Road NE will be closed for much of Wednesday as town crews repair a water main break on the road.

The road will be closed for about 10 hours at its intersection with Park Street, Vienna Police Officer Gary Lose said.

It's not clear what caused the break.

Reader MrAntonioLuisB said on Twitter earlier this morning that his house still had power, but no water after the break occurred.

Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.

Neither Hilltop Road (which goes from Cedar to 29 and is a good cut-through for Home Despot) nor Hilltop Ave (a tiny road that branches off Cedar to go behind some houses on Electric) cross Park. Where is the water main break?

It is a one block long street between Glyndon and Park NE, about 4 blocks north of Maple Av. Spelled Hill Top, (2 words).

Thanks Shreff, you're right: If you type hilltop without the space or the correct designation, Google Maps doesn't know where to point you!

So we have three streets with similar names in Vienna, as small as our town is? Rather amusing....
