I rode the Metro on Saturday from Union Station to Vienna. This is a distance of about 18 miles. The trip took 2 hours. This is not an isolated incident, but a regular occrence. These people do not know how to run a railroad. They perform like they have never run a railroad. What Metro has devolved into is a massive retirement program for a few people who unfortunately happen to be responsible for billions of dollars worth of very expensive equipment and real estate, with no idea how to manage it, or run it. The mismanagement and malpractice occurs everyday and every weekend. Shame on the governments of Virginia, Maryland and D,C, for not insisting on the proper command, control and operation of this "mass transit system". It is not mass, nor transit , nor system.
