Whiz Kid: Local Girl Scouts Receive Gold Award

From preschool to college, Vienna Patch is honoring the academic, athletic, arts, science, and community standouts that make town so great. This week, five girl scouts receive awards.

Know a child who goes above and beyond to help those in need? How about a student who's constantly setting the bar higher day by day? Or maybe a young person who has endured an amazing journey already in life?

Vienna Patch will feature students, sports teams, school club members, and any other outstanding young person for a new weekly feature, Whiz Kid.

Key to Awesomeness: The Optimist Club of Greater Vienna honored the five local Girl Scouts at their regular dinner meeting held at the Marco Polo restaurant. From nominator Tom Bauer: "This award requires a great deal of planning, preparation and hard work and is the equivalent of the Boy Scouts' Eagle award. The Vienna Community should be proud of these fine young ladies for their perseverence and dedication."
