Some unexpected snow hit Vienna this afternoon to the delight of some winter fans who have seen few flakes so far this winter.

What started as a dusting turned to a more steady snowfall around 3 p.m., enough for some kids, parents and their four-footed friends to head outside for sledding or snowballs.

The Capital Weather Gang reports the snow will continue until tonight, stopping sometime between 6 and 8 p.m.

"Watch out for a few slick spots in any areas which have wet roads as they may become icy with temperatures dropping," it reports.
