VYS TOPSoccer - Sharing the Love of the Game with Players with Disabilities

Vienna Youth Soccer TOPSoccer program provides a fun and safe learning environment for children ages 4-19 with disabilities to enjoy and learn the game of soccer.

It's Saturday afternoon and Bob Zadeh and his fellow volunteers are on the pitch enjoying a fun game of soccer. This is not your average game of kick and pass. Bob and his crew of volunteers come out each Saturday to play and teach soccer to players with disabilities.  It is a passion that he and so many others with Vienna Youth Soccer (VYS) have shared for the past several years.

TOPSoccer, The Outreach Program, is a nationally recognized program of US Youth Soccer, designed to enrich the lives of children ages 4-19 with mental and/or physical disabilities through the game of soccer.

This past Saturday, over 25 athletes with disabilities came out to Freedom Hill ES to play soccer. They were joined by several VYS coaches, parents and peer volunteers who play and teach alongside to assist in creating a fun and safe learning environment. "It is a great program run by dedicated volunteers to help the children have fun, get fit, and build self-confidence.", Bob Zadeh.
