First in States is a Knockout

 The Senior League Vienna All Stars bats exploded early in the game - including homeruns from Matt Livingston and Robbie Harris -, in a solid start in the Virginia Babe Ruth State tournament, in Lawrenceville. Vienna defeated Rappahannock All Stars team 15-1.

On the mound, Jeff Cazenas was dominant and complemented the offense on a scorching hot day.

Vienna scored a run in the first inning with base on balls to Danny Delgado, Jeff Cazenas and Matt Linvingston and a fielder’s choice from Kalib Ashcraft.

The offense came strong in the second inning with a base on balls to Stephen Harrs, and RBI double to the left field fence from Delgado, an infield hit of Jeff Cazenas, a RBI triple by Logan Claybrook and a 2 run HR from Livingston.

Hits from Ashcraft and Patrick Abrahamsen brought home the sixth run of the inning.

Vienna scored six more runs in the 4th with a double of Jeff Cazenas, a RBI hit from Livingston, a 2 run HR from Harris, a base on balls to Sammy Criscitello and hits from Delgado and Cazenas, who both hit twice in the inning.

The last 2 runs were scored after hits from Bradley Cazenas, a hit from Chris Anzilotti and 2 RBI double from Joe Halligan.

Cazenas pitched 4 innings, allowing 3 hits, one run and striking out 2. Josh Williams threw a perfect 5th inning, striking out 2, to close the game.

Offensively, Jeff Cazenas was 3 for 3, with 2 RBIs and 2 runs; Livingston was 2 for 3, with a HR, 2 runs and 3 RBI; Harris was 1 for 3, with a home run, 2 RBIs and a run; Delgado was 2 for 3, with a double, 2 runs and an RBI; Abrahamsen, 1 for 3 with an RBI; Ashcraft 1 for 3, 1 run and 2 RBI; Halligan 1 for 2, a double, 2 RBI and a run; Claybrook 1 for 3, with a triple, 1 RBI and 2 runs; Bradley Cazenas 1 for 1;  and Anzilotti 1 for 1, with a run scored. Vienna’s Senior Babe Ruth All Stars play again Sunday, when they will face Lane at 1:00 p.m.
