The Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna presented

Their 4th “Silent Art Auction - a Benefit for Seniors” to a Host of Art Enthusiasts

Vienna, VA – The Shepherd’s Center of Oakton-Vienna (SCOV) recently hosted their Fourth “Silent Art Auction – A Benefit for Seniors” for one week in May for enthusiastic art fans to bid on.

Ms. Moran of Vienna, VA (pictured) specializes in oil, acrylic and photography. She has been in numerous juried and one-person shows.  She is a retired professor of French, Spanish and English as a Foreign Language – Michigan State University and Yale University. She is presently on the Board of McLean Art Society and a past Representative to Fairfax County Council for the Arts.

Ms. Moran was one of over fifty artists who contributed theirs work for the benefit auction.  Works included original oils, acrylics, watercolors, photography, jewelry and needlework.  Presenting Sponsor was The Applegate Gallery of Vienna. Additional support was provided by Evolution Health Club, The Fresh Market; Out of Site Wines; First Stage Theater; Vienna Art Society; Five Hills Garden Club and Brooke Rentals.

All proceeds benefit the Shepherd's Center of Oakton-Vienna, a local non-profit providing free services and enrichment programs to older adults in the Vienna, Oakton, Dunn Loring and Merrifield communities. Their support is also provided to seniors residing in portions of the Reston and Fairfax 

Founded in 1997, SCOV is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for adults (50+) to seek rewarding lives and to live independently in their homes for as long as possible.  In 2013 SCOV provided services and programs to more than 3,000 older adults.   In 2012 SCOV was voted the Best Nonprofit of the Year by the Vienna Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce.  In September, 2013 SCOV was selected the Charity of the Month by WTOP 103.5FM Radio.
