Vienna Senior All Stars State's Runner-Up
After three rain delays in the last 2 days, the Senior League Vienna Babe Ruth All Stars (16-19) finished runner-up in the Virginia State Tournament which lasted until Wednesday in Lawrenceville.
In the seventh day of the tournament, the Vienna All Stars forced a final and a decisive game with a win 6 to 5 over Greater Fairfax in the first championship game.
For that first game, Josh Williams drove three hours and a half directly from Vienna to pitch a complete game and Chris Anzilotti brought home the decisive run with a hit in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Vienna took the lead in the first inning with a hit by Danny Delgado, an error, a fielder’s choice and an RBI single from Robby Harris that sent home Jeffrey Cazenas.
In the third inning, Vienna scored the second run with a hit from Stephen Harrs – whom also drove early in the morning to play in the championship games -, a base on balls to Anzilotti a hit from Sammy Criscitello and a wild pitch.

Greater Fairfax scored a run in the top of the 4th, but Matt Livingston responded with a kilometric home run to center field, his third of the state tournament and fourth of the All Stars season.
With two runs in the 5th and two more in the 6th, Greater Fairfax took the lead, but Vienna responded in the bottom of the sixth with a hit from Kalib Ashcraft, and RBI triple by Livingston, another RBI hit from Harris that tied the game, a double by Harrs and the winning RBI hit by Anzilotti.
Greater Fairfax threaten in the top of the seventh after working a base on balls but a quick double play from third baseman Livingston, to second baseman Delgado to first baseman Anzilotti ended the game.
Williams pitched 7 innings, scattering 10 hits and dominating in the right moments with his extensive repertoire.
With the bat, Harrs was 2 for 2, with a double and 2 runs scored; Livingston 2 for 4, with a home run, a triple and 2 RBIs; Harris 2 for 4 with 2 RBIS; Criscitello 2 for 3; Anzilotti 1 for 2, with an RBI; Delgado 2 for 4; and Ashcraft 1 for 3, with a run scored.
The final game
Vienna couldn’t carry its momentum to the second game, which Greater Fairfax started with 3 runs in the top of the first and won 10-4.
In the third, Vienna scored its first run with singles by Ashcraft and Livingston (RBI).
After a first rain delay, Greater Fairfax scored the decisive 4 runs in the 5th taking advantage of 2 errors, and 2 more in the 6th, extending its lead 9-1.
Vienna gave some signs of life in the 6th after a base on balls to Delgado, singles by Cazenas, Ashcraft and Livingston.
Stephen Harrs started for Vienna. After some trouble in the first inning he threw 3 scoreless innings, before Greater Fairfax took advantage of a couple of base on balls and errors. Josh Williams pitched the last 2 innings.
Offensively, Ashcraft was 3 for 4, with a run and an RBI, Livingston 3 for 4 with a run and an RBI; Jeff Cazenas 2 for 5 with a run scored; and Harris 1 for 3.
Greater Fairfax advanced to the Southeast regionals, in Chantilly.
Vienna was 4-2 in a State tournament that reunited 11 teams, only losing to Greater Fairfax.

In the State Tournament, Livingston was 12 for 22 (.555), with 3 HRs; Cazenas 12 for 23 (.521), with a HR; Ashcraft 10 for 23 (.435), with a HR; Harris 8 for 20 (.400) with 3 HRS; Delgado 8 for 21 (.381); Abrahamsen 3 for 8 (.375); Claybrook 4 for 13 (.307); Criscitello 4 for 13 (.307); Harrs 2 for 5 (.400); and Anzilotti 4 for 14 (.286).
During the district tournament, Billy Ellis was 4 for 6 (.667); Logan Claybrook 8 for 15 (.533); Ashcraft 8 for 20(.400); Harris 4 for 10 (.400); Livingston 5 for 14 (.357); and Delgado (4 for 13. 307).
Overall, Livingston hit for .472 (4 HRs, 13 RBIs, 10 runs and an OBP of .522); Claybrook .428 (1 HR, 4 doubles, 10 RBIs, 11 runs and an OBP of .484); Cazenas .414 (1 HR, 10 RBIs, 12 runs and an OBP of .478); Ashcraft .409 (1 HR, 6 doubles, 10 RBIs, 11 runs ); Harris .400 (3 HR, 9 RBIs, 9 runs and .470 OBP); Delgado .353 (5 doubles, 12 runs, 10 rbis and .511 OBP); and Abrahamsen and Anzilotti .307.
On the mound, Phillip Davine was 1-0, with a 0.5 E.R.A., allowing only 10 hits in 14 innings. The other Ws were for Jeff Cazenas (2-1, 19 Ks in 19 innings), Josh Williams (2-1) and Patrick Abrahamsen (1-0) and Logan Claybrook (1-0).
Vienna’s batting average was .365, with 10 home runs and an OBP of .472.
