This week we have several events that are traditions in this Town. Get out there and enjoy the fresh air and blooming trees after a week of crazy rain!

Where / When: Fairfax High School, 3500 Old Lee Road, Fairfax; Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: Come to this annual event hosted by the Northern Virginia International Plastic Modelers Society where you can see displays of hundreds of museum quality scale models. There are "make and take events" for kids, and doll house and Legos exhibits.
Price: $8.00 per adult, $10.00 per family.
Where / When: McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue, McLean; from Saturday, April 30 through Saturday, May 14. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. but perhaps attend the 3 p.m. Sunday performance with your kids.
Why Go: See this comedy that is based on a real-life family where the parents are experts in industrial efficiency. See what happens when they use these techniques to raise their kids ages six through teenage years.
Price: $15 for adults, $13 for students and seniors. Note the afternoon show time!
Annual Vienna Elementary PTA Run for Fun
Where / When: Vienna Elementary School, 128 Center Street South, Vienna; Sunday, May 1, 8 a.m.
Why Go: Participate in this seven-year tradition and doing good with your child for some healthy fun all around. The race has partnered with the DC Road Runners Club to bring a new registration system and the use of chronotrack timing system. Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the race's food drive.
Price: Adults are $25 if pre-registered, $30 on race day; children ages 14 and under are $15 per child for first one or two children in a family, and $5 per child after that regardless of registration date.
Annual Walk on the Hill in the Windover Heights Historic District
Where / When: In the Windover Heights Historic District, near Green Hedges School, 415 Windover Avenue, Northwest, Vienna; Sunday, May 1 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (rain date Sunday, May 8, but weather looks good for Sunday as of post time!). Parking available at Green Hedges School.
Why Go: This is a 37-year tradition in Vienna, where you are invited to walk through any yard in this historic district with an “Open” sign. Along the way, enjoy a concert by the Vienna Community Band at 3 p.m. and enjoy of refreshments provided by the residents and Historic Vienna, Inc. Small town fun.
Price: Free!
George Mason University Concert
Where / When: Harris Theater at George Mason University, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax; Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m.
Why Go: The Thomas Brawley Memorial Concert features Mason faculty and student chamber ensembles. Enjoy some live music as a family!
Price: Free!
