Hurricane Sandy: Your Shout-Outs

Who paid you or your neighbors a kindness? Give them a shout-out.

We know many people worked hard to get things back on track for Vienna residents, and we want to hear about them.

So, give those Good Samaritans and hard workers a well-deserved shout-out in the comments section below. Who went above and beyond the call of duty? Who helped make the storm easier for you?

Hunter Mill Road is closed. Again. And this time it seemed that people were going to have to drive around given the dire warnings on tv and radio. Not to mention the blue ribbons still flying to honor a lost life reminding us how fragile life can be and how unbelievably strong the forces of water can be. Not so some people. When caught in the act of trying to move the barricades from a still-closed Hunter Mill Road so that they could drive through, my friend Bob Bell stopped them. Bob told them that "they were putting others in harms way ... and he wasn't going to let them endanger even one more." Well done, Bob. Thank you!
