Make Plans Now to Celebrate the Fourth of July in Vienna

Rain date for fireworks only is Saturday, July 5.

The Town of Vienna's annual July 4th celebration will be held on Friday, July 4, at the Vienna Community Center, 120 Cherry Street SE.

Admission is free. Activities are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include games and rides, arts and crafts vendors, a circus show, community organization booths, antique cars, a chili cook-off, live music and “Pooches on Parade,” sponsored by Hope Advanced Veterinary Center, Pet Lovers Companion and NOVADog Magazine.

Pet lovers are invited to bring their pets dressed in their finest Independence Day costumes and participate in a parade on the festival field at 11 a.m. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Center Gazebo. Free.  

A fireworks show will be held at Southside Park, 1315 Ross Drive SW, beginning at 9:15 p.m.; spectator seating areas will open at 5 p.m. Pre-fireworks entertainment by Fat Chance begins at 7 p.m.

Thanks to Vienna Little League for making Yeonas Park available for spectator seating.

MAIN STAGE 
Vienna Community Band concert, 11 a.m. 
Presentation of Colors by the Vienna Police, 12 p.m. 
B2B – Jimmy Buffett tribute band – mixing trop-rock, Caribbean country, original music and songs you will know by heart, 12:15 - 4 p.m.  

KID’S CRAFT CORNER 
Create fun Fourth of July Crafts, appropriate for kids of all ages, 2 – 3 p.m.  

SPECIAL EVENTS 
Pooches on Parade, 11 a.m. (Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Gazebo) Bring your pet in their finest Independence Day costumes and participate in a special parade during the festival! Free. 
Old Bay Circus Show, 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the softball field  

FESTIVAL ROAD CLOSURE 
Cherry Street between Center Street and Park Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. 


Fireworks Show

Southside Park, 1315 Ross Drive SW 
Show begins promptly at 9:15 p.m. 
Pre-Fireworks entertainment provided by Fat Chance, 7 p.m.  
Seating available at adjacent Yeonas Park with limited seating at Southside Park. Spectator seating areas open at 5 p.m. Lawn chairs are prohibited on baseball fields at Yeonas Park.  

Restrooms available. Vienna Little League concession stand open.
No dogs – No alcohol – No glass items.  

The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 to 11 p.m.: Ross Drive from Cottage Street to George Street, Patrick Street and George Street from Cottage Street to Ross Drive.

Parking available at Cedar Lane School and Thoreau Middle School.
