Police: Flooding Impacting Roadways in Fairfax County

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

Fairfax County Police sent out an alert late Friday about several roads in the area that are experiencing flooding due to the heavy downpours the area has seen the past few days.

Route 50 East near Fair Oaks Mall has re-opened and flood waters have receeded. However, storms may continue throughout the evening and road conditions may change abruptly.

Old Courthouse Road at Besley Road has also experienced flooding. Please drive with caution, police warn drivers.
