The Town of Vienna will host "A Day to Remember" community commemoration of the 2001 terrorist attacks. The event begins at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 on the grounds of the historic Freeman Store and Museum, 131 Church Street, NE.
The public is invited to attend this annual event which is sponsored by Vienna's American Legion Post 180 in cooperation with the Town of Vienna.
Family Skate Nights are back at the Vienna Community Center Gymnasium every Friday from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. The skate nights will run from Sept. 6 to Dec. 20, excluding the month of November.
The cost is $1 per person and participants are required to bring their own skates and safety equipment. Scooters are not allowed, only roller and in-line skaters. Children without skates must remain off the floor for safety reasons. No registration required. Call (703) 255-6360 for more information.
The Vienna Sustainability Home and Garden Tour will be held Sunday, Sept. 15 from 12 - 4 p.m. The 3rd annual tour will highlight some of Vienna's most sustainable homes and gardens and give the public a first-hand look at what residents are doing to improve their property with long-term sustainable changes.
