Week Ahead: Healthcare Reform and Wiffle Ball

Five things you need to know in Vienna, Va. this week.

Prepared for healthcare reform? The Business Bank is partnering with Bankers Insurance, LLC, to host the second of two seminars discussing healthcare reform and how people can prepare for it. The second and final seminar will be on Tuesday, July 30 at the Business Bank on East Maple Road. 

Interested in a friendly game of Wiffle ball? The 2 Young Foundation is hosting its annual Northern Virginia Wiffle World Series on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Waters Field. The tournament lasts all day, and the proceeds raised at the event will help support brain cancer research and awareness, as well as families affected by the disease.

Are you a fan of the arts? The Vienna Youth Players will be performing its 20th annual show when 'AIDA' opens in the community center auditorium on Friday night. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. and the show will be performed five times in all between Aug. 2 and Aug. 11. Tickets for the show cost $14.

The Lifetime Leadership Program is hosting an informational event on Thursday, Aug. 1 in advance of its fall 2013 program. The event, sponsored by Leadership Fairfax, will be held at 8230 Old Courthouse Road in Vienna beginning at 11 a.m. The event is expected to last one hour. 

The Transportation and Safety Commission will meet Tuesday evening, July 30, at 8 p.m. in the Town Hall chamber.
