Whiz Kids: Ace Sarich, Tasneem Elbackush, Charlice Hiday

From preschool to college, Vienna Patch is honoring the academic, athletic, arts, science, and community standouts that make town so great. This week, Kilmer and Thoreau Middle School students win oratorical contest

Know a child who goes above and beyond to help those in need? How about a student who's constantly setting the bar higher day by day? Or maybe a young person who has endured an amazing journey already in life?

Vienna Patch will feature students, sports teams, school club members, and any other outstanding young person for a new weekly feature, Whiz Kid

Names: Ace Sarich, Tasneem Elbackush, Charlice Hiday.

Schools: Kilmer (Sarich and Elbackush) and Thoreau (Hiday).

Accomplishment: Gold (Sarich and Elbackush) and Bronze (Hiday) medals

Key To Awesomeness: The topic given these students was: "If I were the leader of the free world, the first issue I would address would be....". The students who participated were selected to compete from their school administrators and, in many cases, competed successfully against students in their own school before going on to the local finals.  Boys and girls competed separately.

From Optimist member Tom Bauer: " Congratulations are in  order for these outstanding speakers!"
