Your Guide: Vienna Halloween Parade Tonight

Road closures, tips and maps for the town's annual Halloween tradition

Vienna will celebrate its 66th annual Halloween Parade tonight, during which Santa Claus will serve as grand marshal for the parade's theme "Celebrating Holidays Around the World."

Here's what you need to know if you plan to attend the parade, which begins at 7 p.m.

Children can show off their costumes in the parade. They will line up for the parade at 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Virginia Commerce Bank at 374 Maple Avenue E. No registration is required, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Road Closures

Maple Avenue will close between East Street and Lawyers Road between 6:50 and 9 p.m. Portions of several side roads off Maple Avenue will also close, as shown in the detour map in the media box to the right of this article.

Parade Route

The parade route is about .5 miles down Maple Avenue from Branch Road to Center Street. The parade will attract about 35,000 people to downtown Vienna, and wll last between 90 minutes and two hours.
