A Night of Worship with Aaron Gillespie + Brightwork + AJ Cheek

Aaron Gillespie was born in Clearwater, Florida. He grew up in a devout Christian family, attended private schools and went to church regularly. Aaron's parents divorced when he was 18 years old. At age 14, Aaron worked at the church and vacuumed. He enjoyed playing the drums at church, but was told he did not play well and that he played too loud. At only 14 years old, he received a call from Underoath asking him to play drums for them. After much prayer and consideration he stepped down as the drummer from Underoath in April of 2010. Aaron currently plays with his band The Almost that he started in 2007. Aaron married his wife Jamie in November of 2006. Aaron and Jamie currently live in Tarpon Springs, Florida. He recently achieved the HM Magazine's Readers Award for favorite drummer of 2008. Aaron's passion is his band, The Almost and his ministry to his youth group. Aaron has had opportunities throughout his career to travel all over the world and lead people to Christ. He is an amazing musician and an incredible speaker.

Hailing from Charlottesville, VA, Brightwork booked their first show in May of '09 before having a band practice. With the pressure on, the fledgling group of college friends logged a series of marathon practices holed up in stuffy basements and fly-ridden trailers. By the end of a long and rewarding summer of writing and performing, members Caleb Carpenter (vocals, guitar), Brian Hrubik (keys, guitar, vocals), Micah Petrosky (bass), and Andrew Boyd (drums) discovered that their direction had evolved from a project into a calling. Since then, they have shared the stage with several national touring acts including Sanctus Real, Future of Forestry, Starfield, and Revive. Through recording their debut EP in the spring of '10 with producer Scott Campbell (Mainstay), Brightwork has forged their own sound amidst a sea of musical influences. The blended textures of overdriven crunch and warm piano melodies place Brightwork in a category of their own. In June of '11, Brightwork headed to Coda Record House in Lincoln, NE to record their sophomore release with producers Riley Friesen (Vota, Staggerford) and Philip Zach (Remedy Drive). They emerged armed with a fresh and refined repertoire including tracks such as "Hope Unchanging," a worship-driven anthem woven together with soaring melodies and punchy rhythms to form a rich and cohesive musical fabric. "Our mission is to integrate our desires to write and perform with a higher desire to serve Jesus and make him known," Caleb states. "To us, music is just the means we've been given to genuinely connect with people and share what really matters."

A few years later he teamed up with Josh Pearson and what started as some teenagers writing songs in their bedrooms, grew into the critically acclaimed Nevertheless. They were a Provident signed act that built a massive following in hometown Chattanooga,TN and went on to tour the USA many times over while earning themselves a reputation as one of the best live bands on the scene. After 7 years, countless shows and thousands of records sold Nevertheless decided to go their separate ways. What could have been a sad time for AJ actually turned into an opportunity to trust God. It was at this time that Revive were looking for a new guitarist and after an introduction through their A&R guy and a few shows, AJ felt the Lord's provision in Revive offering him the full time gig. From playing to half a million people on the national tour Winterjam, to walking the streets of India, for AJ the Revive journey has been one he never forget. With the recent announcement of Revive calling it a day comes a new season for AJ - Solo Artist. AJ just recently hit the road last fall opening for Tenth Ave North and Aaron Gillespie and hopes to record a full length album this year.
