@JamnJavaDoorGal’s LOCAL SCENE: Crooked Crow + Shokkher + Last Second Left (formerly known as TheBrunoSound) + All The Gods

Recently celebrating its 10-year anniversary, Crooked Crow has come a long way from an acoustic duo playing gigs in Borders bookstores to a mainstay on the NoVA rock scene. Singer/guitarist Bruce Parker and bassist Jamie Rasmussen formed the band in 2001, later bringing in current drummer Kyle Jackson in 2005 and current guitarist Jeremy Miller in 2011. The band has released several studio recordings including the full length CD "Just off Seven" in 2010, and the EP "Long Story Short" in 2012, both of which were recorded at Cue Studios with producer Jim Ebert. The music of Crooked Crow might best be described as "all shades of rock," with comparisons to the Foo Fighters, REM, and Vertical Horizon. The band is known for its energetic and engaging live performances, prompting long time fans to sing along with their favorite hits, and new fans to move and dance to the rhythm.

LAST SECOND LEFT (formerly known as TheBrunoSound)
With songs ranging in genre from anthem-esque ballads to danceable rock-reggae to straight up rock and roll, it's no wonder Bruno de Lima-Campos finds it hard to pinpoint his music to one particular category. Having begun at age 11 with classical and flamenco lessons and gradually applying his teachings to the electric and steel string acoustic guitar, Bruno's unique stylings truly have a sound all their own. After stints as a lead guitarist and songwriter for many acclaimed bands (most notably Crowded Streets, a Dave Matthews Band Tribute), Bruno decided it was time to give his fans a bigger taste of his personal musical journey, and thus, Last Second Left was born. Last Second Left's repertoire has been influenced by such notable musicians as Carlos Santana, Baden Powell, Tim Mahoney and Mike Einziger, but it also goes beyond that to truly display Bruno's growth as both a songwriter and guitarist. With guest vocalist Lindsay Hough of The Fishermen and a plethora of other talented backing musicians accompanying Bruno, the final sound demonstrated throughout his self-titled debut album is one of richness and depth. Last Second Left's live shows will also be sure to please, as Bruno is determined to take his fans along with him on his musical voyage, sharing with audiences the energy and passion with which he lives his life - both on stage and off.

ALL THE GODS
All The Gods is a melodic guitar-driven power trio known for live performances of olympic proportions. The band calls both North Carolina and Virginia home. Vocalist/bassist Gino Bona (Raleigh, NC), guitarist Eric Kielb (Raleigh, NC), and drummer Joe Milausnic (Reston, VA) are veterans of the metro-DC music scene. In the late 90s and early 00s, they built a loyal regional following in the bands Flux, Soma Mantra, Autologic, and Six Foot Heroes. In 2009, All The Gods began tracking a series of demos focused on balancing the groove, melody, and bombast of their most revered influences. The magic of those sessions resulted in the self-release of 5 singles, each with an accompanying video. The video for their debut single "The Tower" was voted 1st Place Winner in the 2010 D'Addario's "Rock The Roxy" contest. In late 2011, All The Gods emerged from the studio to deliver potent live performances that recall the power trios of yesterday and today (Muse, Nirvana, The Police, Rush, Cream).
