Jonas Sees in Color is an American rock band from Greensboro, North Carolina composed of members Ryan Downing, Jonathan Albright, Michael Deming, John Chester, Jonathan David Owens, and Meagan Beth Plummer. The band's debut, self-titled album was released on September 29, 2009 on Glassnote Records and encompasses rock, indie rock, and pop music. They cite The Beatles, The Black Crowes, Band of Horses, Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket and Otis Redding as musical influences, as well as literature such as The Giver, The Catcher in the Rye, and works by Japanese modernist Haruki Murakami. The band is known for rowdy, high-energy live performances and a relentless touring schedule. The name Jonas Sees In Color is a reference to Lois Lowry's 1993 Newberry Award winning novel The Giver.
The name Jonas Sees In Color is basically a metaphor. In the book "The Giver" by Lois Lowry, the main character lives in a black and white world. When he is chosen to take on the responsibility of the hopes, thoughts, and feelings of his entire village, he finally begins to see in color. The name is a metaphor because one of the most important goals of our music is to create a connection with the listener by accurately connecting the stories and ideas contained in our music in a way that allows the listener to take and interpret the songs as their own. This way, the listener is just as important as the artist. After all, music doesn't mean much if no one is listening to it.

A four piece Electro Dance Rock band out of Kansas City, Missouri. Gained popularity in early 2008 with the release of their 3 song 'Nightmarer' single. Local alternative radio station, 96.5 the buzz, got the single and took note of the band, playing them on their Sunday night series, "Homegrown Buzz", a local music showcase. Positive listener feedback on 96.5 the Buzz gave Queens Club a chance to play for a larger crowd when they opened for Say Anything at Kansas City Power & Light Districts Summer Concert Series. They released their "UhHuh EP" in Fall 2009, and "Young Giant" on Tooth and Nail Records on 23 March 2010.
September 18th 2009 on Queens Club twitter (@QNS_CLB), they announced that Queens Club has joined the Tooth and Nail Records family (www.toothandnail.com).
Queens Club takes opportunities to interact with their fans by hanging out before and after shows, inviting concert goers to join them in dancing on stage during their set, and even making their practice and recording sessions available live to their fans via Stickam.com.
By their own description, they sound like, "A totally medieval dance party in Berlin, Germany where everybody wants you to dance with them to the new Bloc Party single."

Although they didn't necessarily know how it would play out in their future plans, music has always played a key role in the lives of Shealeen and Elle, two sisters (19 and 17 years old, respectively) who've discovered that songwriting is a pretty great vehicle for saying exactly what's on their minds.
As the girls continued to hone their skills and play shows wherever and whenever they could, (they'd later take first place at a local "Battle of the Bands" competition, even though Shealeen had to tackle the lead vocal duties when Elle was sick), a rather fortuitous turn of events further affirmed their burgeoning talent when an A&R rep from Tooth & Nail Records caught their set. After giving a demo to the label's representative, they were invited to showcase their songs at the Tooth & Nail headquarters in Seattle. A week later, Brandon Ebel called and offered them a recording contract.
With song inspiration ranging from a Pride & Prejudice moment of hopeless romanticism ("Safe to Say") to an ode to a shall-remained nameless member of the opposite sex ("Blue Sweater"), Shealeen and Elle love serving up these melodic slices of life to a broad audience.
"Whenever we're going through a situation, even a rough one, instead of getting mad about it, we'll just go write a song about it." Elle says. "And because we're writing music with such universal themes, it ends up appealing to everyone, which is exactly what a good song does for us, regardless of the musical genre.
