Lola Monroe

Who is Lola Monroe? "More than meets the eye", "Diamond in the rough", "Eye Candy" all understatements. Words cant begin to describe the talent that is Ms. Lola Monroe formally known as "Angel Lola Luv". An exquisite mix of Ethiopian and Trinidadian, Lola has been blessed with an independent nature, street smarts a keen business sense and beauty. Born in Ethiopia, raised in Washington DC's Garfield Terrace, there was nothing glamorous about her upbringing. No stranger to struggle Lola has been hustling to provide for herself since the age of 15.

Taking the Modeling industry by storm in 2006 after a chance meeting with Photographer Mike Styles Business partner of her current Manager Michelle Vieyra. Lola quickly became the most sought after Video Model. Visually stimulating the public eye appearing in high profile videos for 50 Cent, Kanye West, Trey Songz, Busta Rhymes and the list goes on. In addition, Lola appeared on the cover of numerous major magazine publications and made history by taking the "Eye Candy of the Year" title two years consecutively. Determined and driven, Lola made her acting debut in the Wendy Williams biopic "Queen of Media" later she starred in "Crazy like a fox". She then went on to play a role in "Before I Self Destruct" a film written and directed by Curtis Jackson.

"Angel Lola Luv" was a persona created for the modeling aspect of her career. In 2007 Lola retired from video modeling and officially and exclusively transitioned into Lola Monroe the Rapper/Entertainer. The "Monroe" is directly related to the iconic Actress, Model, Film Producer and Singer Marilyn Monroe. Due to the fact the two share a similar story, were discovered in the same fashion and used modeling as a entry to further their career in the Entertainment Industry. The name Lola Monroe defines who she is and who she has always been, her personality and true character.

At the age of 12 Lola began writing poems and songs, using music as an escapism and a form of expression. Lola Monroe's musical influences include Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Tupac, Eminem, MC Lite, Queen Latifah, Salt n Pepa, Lil Kim, Trina, and Foxy Brown. Lola describes her music as "painting a vivid picture of my experiences, my views and my feelings towards the struggle. The grind, love, money, hate, anything the streets can feel from my perspective". When you listen to Lola Monroe's music it is obvious she is writing from a genuine place and speaking on real life situations and personal experiences that both men and women can relate to.
