"Make the Cut!" charity haircutting and donation event

Volunteer hairstylists are needed for "Make the Cut," a charity haircutting event at which Thoreau Middle School students, teachers, and other community members will donate hair for wigs for cancer patients. The event, led by cast members of Thoreau Middle School’s April musical Thoroughly Modern Millie and Director/Drama Department teacher Bernie DeLeo, is in honor of Lija Lusis, an eighth-grade Thoreau student who is fighting Hodgkin’s lymphoma but remains as a spirited cast member in the musical. Sponsors are the Thoreau Drama Department, Parent-Teacher Association, and Student Council Association in coordination with Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a charity program associated with the American Cancer Society.
