BlackFinn Ameripub Opens in Merrifield

A new American pub — open until 2 a.m. — will officially start serving classic fare, local brews and cocktails Thursday to local residents in a complex near the Dunn Loring Metro.

Blackfinn Ameripub, located in the Halstead Square complex at 2750 Gallows Road, will have a grand opening ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday, hosted by the Vienna Business Association. Vienna Mayor Jane Seeman will lead the event.

The 8,000 square foot restaurant, two blocks away from the Dunn Loring Metro, will serve lunch, dinner, appetizers and desserts seven days a week. The menu features classic fare like soups, salads, sandwiches, steaks and pastas along with some twists, like a blackened brie appetizer and a ginger tuna entree.

It will also host happy hour and brunch, and offer a spot to watch big games or host community events. This week, during a soft opening, the restaurant hosted a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Along with a dog-friendly outdoor patio, the 368-seat restaurant and bar will also feature specialty cocktails, wines and 100 beers, many of them from local producers like DC Brau, Port City and Lost Rhino Brewing.

Merrifield is BlackFinn's second location; the first is in Austin, Texas. Its owners are also partners of BlackFinn American Saloon in D.C., which has been open at 1620 I Street since 2009.

Thursday's ceremony will feature local business leaders along with light hors  d'oeuvres.

Blackfinn Ameripub is located at 2750 Gallows Road. Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week, except for Saturday and Sunday when the restaurant opens at 10:30 a.m. for brunch. For more information visit blackfinnameripub.com.
