By Rachel Hatzipanagos

Founding Farmers restaurant will open in Tysons in spring 2014, the company announced this week.

The restaurant group bills itself as the D.C. metro area’s “greenest” restaurant. The restaurant will be located 1800 Tysons Boulevard and will have approximately 280 seats between bar and dining areas, according to a press release.

“Tysons Corner is an exciting area with a culinary scene that’s on the rise, making it a natural fit for Founding Farmers,” Dan Simons, managing partner of the farm, stated in a press release.

The restaurant will house an in-house butcher studio to allow chefs to receive and prepare cuts to menu specifications. The restaurant’s other locations boast LEED certifications, which means that building standards are eco-friendly, according to the company’s website.

The restaurant also has a location in D.C. and Montgomery County.
