NerdWallet: Vienna No. 2 Place in Virginia for Job Seekers

The online consumer resource places the town behind Leesburg.

Need a job? Then Vienna's not a bad place to be, according to consumer resource website NerdWallet.

Vienna ranked no. 2 in Virginia for job seekers, with an unemployment rate of 6.0 percent compared to 7.3 percent as the national average, according to the website. Leesburg edged out Vienna, and Herndon, Arlington and Manassas rounded out the top five.

Vienna boasts a high median household income of $116,933 as well as a low unemployment rate of 6.0 percent. Additionally, many residents are flocking to Vienna, with a 6.0 percent population growth between 2009 and 2011. Vienna’s major employers include the Navy Federal Credit Union, Fairfax County Public Schools and Contemporary Electrical Services. Vienna government helps boost small businesses with an annual Vienna Business Saturday, where residents can support their local Vienna businesses.
