New Vietnamese Cuisine Restaurant Coming to Vienna

Owners hope to open in early November.

Viet Aroma Asian Cuisine will open soon in Vienna, offering Vietnamese cuisine as well as beer and wine, according to restaurant manager Lani Vu. The 55-seat restaurant will be located at 165 Glyndon St. SE in Vienna.

It will be located at the address where the former Serenity Restaurant was in business. The owners of the new restaurant are not affiliated with Serenity Restaurant.

The new family-owned restaurant will be run by the Vu family, who have operated restaurants in their native Vietnam as well as in Washington, DC, Fairfax and Alexandria.

"My grandparents were also in the restaurant business," in Vietnam, said Lani Vu.

Vietnamese food is known for its freshness, she said. "It's very healthy," she noted. Most Vietnamese foods are boiled or lightly stir-fried using little oil. Patrons will have dipping sauces to choose from and the opportunity to make their own rolls using rice paper, if they wish, she said.

Viet Aroma will offer lunchbox specials featuring rice, a protein, a small salad and a crispy spring roll for those in a hurry during the lunch hour, Vu noted. The restaurant will also offer take-out and delivery.

The restaurant is hiring front-of-house and back-of-house staff. For more information, call (703) 865-6664 or (703) 865-6652.

Patch will update the story as a grand-opening date gets closer. Vu also said signs will be up at the restaurant.
