Hungry for Italian food? There is a new spot in Vienna serving wood-fired pizza and other Italian specialities.
Pazzo Pomodoro Pizzeria quietly opened at 118 Branch Rd. SE in November, and the restaurant - whose name means "Crazy Tomato" in Italian - stepped up its game Thursday by starting its lunch service.
The restaurant is locally owned and has pizza ovens handbuilt in Naples, Italy.
For Italian purists, Pazzo Pomodoro has specialties such as gnocchi, zuppa di pesci, a Prosciutto bar and risotto. There is also a big children's menu.
Hours: Lunch: Tuesday-Sunday, 11:30 a.m to 2 p.m. Dinner: Sunday-Thursday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Closed Mondays.
