Vienna’s location of The Fresh Market has been the only one in Northern Virginia, but it’s about to get company.
The specialty grocery store is constructing a new outlet in Alexandria city in the Bradlee Shopping Center at 3680 King Street. It will open in 2014.
In addition, The Fresh Market plans to anchor a mixed-use development in Falls Church to open in fall 2014, reports Washington Business Journal. And, there are plans for stores in Lynchburg and Ashburn.
In a press release announcing the Alexandria location, Rob Koch, vice president of real estate for The Fresh Market, said, “We look forward to building on the success of our other locations in the area, where we have enjoyed a strong and loyal customer base, and to providing customers in Alexandria with the same quality products and excellent customer service.”
The Fresh Market calls itself an “extraordinary food destination store” with hard to find global foods in addition to high-quality meats, produce, a bakery and other items.
The Fresh Market currently operates more than 130 stores in 25 states. For more information, visit www.thefreshmarket.com.
