Vienna Resident Robin Norman Honored as a 'Leader to Know' in Hospital Field

CFO at Virginia Hospital Center named to Becker's Hospital Review's '130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know' list.

Virginia Hospital Center, recently named one of America’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Truven Health Analytics, announced Wednesday that the hospital’s Chief Financial Officer, Robin Norman of Vienna, was named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s ‘130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know’ list, according to a news release.

Becker’s Hospital Review’s ‘130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know’ list is distributed annually and includes women who demonstrate outstanding leadership within the hospital and healthcare industry. The women named to this list were selected based on a wide range of management and leadership skills, including oversight of hospital or health system operations, financial turnarounds and quality improvement initiatives.

Norman began working with Virginia Hospital Center more than 30 years ago, starting as an accounting manager for the hospital. Since that time, Norman advanced to controller and financial project director before becoming Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer in 1998.

“It is a great honor to be recognized for my work at Virginia Hospital Center,” said Norman. “Over the past 34 years I have had the pleasure of serving the interests of our patients and community through my work in the financial field.”

Prior to joining Virginia Hospital Center, Norman was Assistant Controller for a large regional wholesale drug firm. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Maryland and received her M.B.A., with a concentration in Finance, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Norman serves as a Board Member for Phoenix House Mid-Atlantic (formerly Vanguard Services) and Leadership Arlington. She is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
