Stained glass window lightbox

A recent framing project has us in the mood for some bragging. Our client brought in a beautiful stained glass panel, asking if we could figure out a way to light it from behind. We (that is, Steve) built a shallow box of oak and stained it to match the existing frame. He then lined it with LED lights, and outfitted it with a remote control, complete with a dimmer switch. This job has taken extra time, with a lot of precision and attention to detail, but the result is an amazing one-of-a-kind piece, destined to become a family heirloom. Coincidentally, the Local Living section in this week's Washington Post had a query from someone looking for precisely this kind of treatment for a stained glass panel - perhaps it's a trend!
