Dulles Project Closes Roads

Night work on southbound lanes of 123; Day work on 1-66

Several roads leading into Vienna, or used by Vienna commuters, will be closed or temporarily shut down for day or night work this week. Here's a list of the affected areas, and when you should avoid them. Check back at Vienna Patch this weekend to read about weekend closures.

Day Closures

  •  Tysons Boulevard at 123 in Tysons Corner will close during the day from Oct. 18 to Oct. 22, as the turn lanes on 123 south are reshifted to their original location. The left turn lanes from 123N onto the boulevard will still be closed. These changes will also cause several closures on Saturday and Sunday.
  • The right thru lane of 267 W will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. until Oct. 22, between the on ramp to Wiehle Avenue and mile marker 5.5

  • Southbound lanes of 123 from Mclean to Tysons Corner, and the ramp from 267 W to 123 S,  will be closed overnight from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting tonight, October 18. Crews are sutting down these roads to build bridges that will allow them to transport aerial tracks from Dulles Connector Road to the northwest part of 123. These closings will continue until that project is complete.
  • 267 E will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. until Oct. 22, from 495 to Route 123.   Drivers should instead exit to 495 S, exit toward 123N, and enter the on-ramp back toward 267 E.
  • The two lefthand lanes of 267 E will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. today, Oct.18, until Oct 21, from Magarity Road to the Idylwood Road overpass.
  • The ramp from 123 S to 495 S will be closed overnight from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. until Oct. 22. Drivers should pass the ramp and turn right on Inernational Drive, Galleria Drive and Tysons Boulevard. Make a left onto 123N and enter onto the ramp to 495 S.

More closure information is available at the project's website.
