This week, Frugal Family came up with great deals on meals, school supplies and bicycle equipment.

(We’ve tried to include some of the fine print, but please remember to check with the merchant for additional conditions):

1. Stave off cavities and pick up some loot at local dentists' offices

Deal: Bring all your excess Halloween candy to dentists' offices to support the Halloween Candy Buy Back program. They've partnered with Operation Gratitude to mail the candy to troops overseas. The closest participating dental office I could find is Fairfax Corner Ortho/Pedo, located at 4210 Fairfax Corner in Fairfax, but check before you go in case more have signed on. Participating offices will "buy" the kids' candy with either cash, coupons, toothbrushes or other incentives.

Good through: The week after Halloween.

2. Need return address labels for holiday cards? Now's the time to order.

Deal: At FamilyLabels, they're offering free shipping for any order over $50 in the U.S. They make super cute address labels, "we've moved" postcards, and labels for sippy cups, bookbags, or anything a kid is likely to lose.

Good through: None specified.

3. Holiday cookie exchanges are coming, so get ready with a FREE cookbook

Deal: Amazon is offering The Cookie Swap Cookbook for free. It's being marketed as a Kindle e-book, but remember you can also read it on your PC, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry or Android -- just download for free the appropriate application.

Good through: Amazon changes prices without notice, so make sure to check that the kindle price it is still $0.00 before you start downloading.

4. Tired of shaving? Check out Laser Plus on Maple Ave. for big savings

Deal: First time customers get $100 worth of bikini or underarm laser treatments.

Good through: None specified.

5. Go to the movies and support

Deal: On FundsOn, spend $15 for two movie tickets and a concession stand punch card for two large popcorns and four medium drinks (a value of $31) at University Mall Theaters.

Good through: Buy by Tuesday; redeem by Jan. 31, 2012.
