Original: Drivers who use Hunter Mill Road will experience significant delays in the overnight hours on or about Tuesday, Sept. 6 and Wednesday, Sept. 7.
The road will be closed at the Dulles Toll Road between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on those nights, weather permitting.

The closing is necessary for work on the bridge that will carry tracks for the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project in the median of the Dulles Toll Road over Hunter Mill Road.
Drivers going south on Hunter Mill Road will need to detour by turning right on to Sunset Hills Road, left on Wiehle Avenue, then left on to Sunrise Valley Drive to reconnect with Hunter Mill Road south.
If traveling north on Hunter Mill Road, drivers should use the reverse of the southbound detour. They will be directed to turn left on Sunrise Valley Drive, right on Wiehle Avenue, then right on Sunset Hills Road to access northbound Hunter Mill Road.
