Hair Cuttery Celebrates Grand Opening

Second Vienna location is in the Danor Plaza on Branch Road.

Fans of the Hair Cuttery on Maple Avenue West now have the option of visiting the salon in a second location in town.

In November, the business expanded to a second shop in the Danor Plaza off of Branch Road. Last week, the store held a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration to highlight its services and make the first of what it says are many gestures to support the Vienna Community: A $500 donation to Madison High School.

"We want reach out to the community and let them know we're there to support them," said stylist Christine Greil, who has been with the company for a little more than eight years. "It's something we try to be involved with in as much as possible."

The Hair Cuttery began as a local West Springfield, Va business in 1974, but has since grown to include more than 750 Salons in 16 states.

In many ways, the Danor Plaza salon will look much like the original location in the Vienna Plaza Shopping Center. Greil said 11 stylists will be available for appointment and walk-in services, though the design of the new salon was a bit more modern.

The services — from a $16 shampoo and cut to full color and highlights — will remain the same, but the Danor Plaza salon will also offer keratin straightening treatments.

Greil said the salon plans to run different promotions every few months, and also continue to identify causes in the community to which they can lend their support.

The recent $500 donation to Madison will go toward the school's at-risk program, Greil said. The salon also offered raffle prizes at this year's Vienna Turkey Trot, and has also worked with Thoreau Middle School and a nursing center in Dunn Loring.

"All [people] need to do is come to us and ask [for help]," Greil said. "We're really just here to get involved in the town as much as we can."

The Hair Cuttery is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. For more information, click here.
